eJamming in Intel CEO Keynote at CES // 2008-01-08

INTERNATIONAL CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW, Las Vegas, Jan. 7, 2008

During a keynote today at the International Consumer Electronics Show, Intel Corporation CEO Paul Otellini described how the Internet will continue transforming the CE and entertainment industries and how its evolution will create business opportunities for those who embrace it. Otellini was joined onstage by Steve Harwell, the lead singer of the band Smash Mouth to demonstrate how the Internet will enable more natural social interactions and better shared experiences. They showcased how bands can play together over eJamming AUDiiO to create new songs or hold virtual concerts, even when members are in different locations.

Using eJamming AUDiiO’s software-as-a-service that both connects musicians via a social network and then online together, synchronizing their music over the Internet in real time in a virtual recording studio, Harwell connected with the rest of his band in multiple locations in Las Vegas over eJamming’s peer-to-peer network. As the band recorded the climactic 60 seconds of its song “Walking on the Sun,” eJamming’s software both minimized latency and then imposed milliseconds of delay so all the audio streams were synchronized. These live performances can also be netcast over eJamming® JamCast to fans listening on computers, mobile Internet Devices and web-enabled cell phones anywhere in the world.
