C++ Visual Runtime Library Error

I'm running Vista 32-bit w/ ASIO4ALL.

I've installed the redistribution packs, as suggested in previous threads. I've also uninstalled/reinstalled eJamming beta 12 alltogether, and I've had no luck getting eJamming to quit terminating on me.

What type of computer are you using? im doing the same thing with a Dell and its working fine.

Also, at what point does the application terminate? right when you open it up? when you log in? when you start a session? any more information would be very helpful.

thanks!

Hey Chris,

Thanks for taking time to respond. I'm using a Gateway laptop, and termination occurs very sporadically. Here's a "fairly long, but as brief as I can be" synopsis on my issue, that will hopefully be of some help.

I have a dual screen display for my current setup, and I've found that if I simply drag the "C++ error message" window out of view from eJamming, and onto my 2nd screen - As long as I DO NOT click "OK" on the error message - I am able to continue using eJamming. haha Whether or not use is limited due to C++ error, I've not seen yet. Though it does seem to work fine, I'd appreciate any efforts towards a resolve.

So, having found out that I can still use eJam, I went ahead and configured my preferences to find (with help from user "Bish") that my ASIO4ALL driver had been "claimed" by my recording software; Adobe Audition 2. All I did was uninstall ASIO4ALL, and reinstalled their new Vista-friendly realease. The recommended ASIO settings in the FAQs section work fine for me in Adobe Audition 2, but in an eJam session it works alright for about a second before my input audio going crackly. I would have typically decided to post the preceeding issue as a new thread, but I'm not to know for sure if it could be related to the inevitable C++ error message???

Asio4All is a bit of a pistol on vista. And wow, i just realized they had a new version out. If you're running eJam ok and just getting crackly input it might mean we need to tweak our ASIO4ALL recommendations accosringly. ill take a look at that,

as for the C++ problem, im doubtful that the two are connected, but its still possible.

what type of sound card are you using BTW? the built in audio in the laptop?

when you record with Adobe Audition, you recorded the same way youre using eJam i assume?

sorry for all the questions, just trying to track the bugger down...

Hey, it's no problem. Again, the help is appreciated. =) But yeah, to answer your questions; I am using the laptop's built-in soundcard, which is listed as "SigmaTel HighDef Audio", while I am connected to the computer by way of a Instrument-To-USB cable. As you could imagine, without ASIO4ALL I wouldn't even be able to connect. It works perfectly for me as far as recording is concerned.

I too initially thought that the crackly input was a byproduct of the ASIO4ALL settings, as clicking & cracking inputs commonly are caused be offset sampling & buffer rates. The strange thing being that no matter how I set the ASIO driver (regardless if it works in Audition 2), I get the crackly audio as mentioned before.

Ok let me work a little bit in vista and see what might be causing this problem.

what version of vista are you running by the way?

this is a very weird problem....

but i seem to have about the same problem in my version of vista with asio4all...hmmm

get back to ya

Much appreciated. =)

I'm no longer getting that C++ error log, which is of course good news. =)

The only thing being that I can't manage to scrap the intermittent cracks in the audio during my sessions.

Just thought I'd share. haha

well that is good news!

Chris

Out of the frying pan, into intermittent cracks....

is this recorded audio were talking about or the live audio?

See, that's the strange part. When I begin a session, usually I get clear audio; both live-monitored audio AND recorded audio. No problems. But I can record when the cracks occur, and if I playback my session when the cracks go away, the recorded track is clear. It seems to be just an issue in monitoring audio.

thats very weird. This is still asio4all right? not an external sound card?

Correct.
