is ejamming friendly to more complex pc/audio setups?

i just came across this program and i cant find any info on how useful this app is to a complex pc based setup using multibal computers and multibal programs. and the high pc latency this requires to run powerfully and crackle free with apps like reaktor, max/msp,pd, renoise, fruity loops

i normaly run 50ms+ (sometimes 100ms) on my asio settings on all pc's, and im also very midi dependent. i have to slave 4 pc's to the one pc i would have ejamming running on then interface the slave pc's audio with the pc running ejamming

any kind of audio beat detection with midi atached to that would be a latency nightmare. as my audio is offset and midi latency through my setup and any latency through the midi loopback driver i will have to use. (i also use netpd sometimes...)

im having alot of trouble figuring out exactly how to formulate a question to ask, so does anyone have any input on this?

You can drive Midi from eJamming, but im not sure about timecode, ive thought about recording a SMPTE audio timecode track in eJamming and using that to synchronize another system but i haven't tried it yet.

Might be an interesting experiment to try honestly let us know what you find out.

i would have posted a complex message here but WTF!!!! a limit of 1024 characters!!! WTF!!!!!!!

WORST FORUM EVER

using an audio track is a good idea in theory but its realistic application seems very difficult. as it seems to require some math to align it properly and you need to account for all angles of latency. (then again there are tools out there that lake a audio signal to midi but there is latency there too to deal with)

realisticly egamming needs to generate a midi clock signal and have a latency adjustment knob.

i aparently cant type anythign else in a post...

eJamming is not designed to be an all encompassing solution for multi system setups. Its still very young and there are alot of professional functions that eJamming cant yet accomplish.

And yes, i hate the forum too, we are working on changing it.

If you so find a way to accomplish what you're looking to do (and im still not clear on what that is) please let us know and we will post it on the main FAQ website.

Thanks Good Luck!

Chris
