If you're on a Mac, you can use the internal mic and headphone jack to listen to your eJamming Session, because the Mac's CoreAudio works really well with eJamming AUDiiO. Or plug any 48kHz audio interface into your Mac.

If you're on a PC, you need to either have a sound card or audio interface that's ASIO-compliant at 48kHz, or use ASIO4ALL (take a look at the FAQ about ASIO4ALL at http://www.ejamming.com/support/faq/33/). One Audio Interface that we know works well with eJamming is the M-Audio Firewire Solo. Maybe other eJammers can list the Audio Interfaces that work well with eJamming AUDiiO here in the Forum too.

The lagging you hear is the eJamming Sync Delay System working properly to keep you in sync. Take a look at the Sync Delay System Tutorial here: http://www.ejamming.com/support/tutorials/

I have two soundcards which work well under WindowsXP: 1. Terratec DMX 6fire (over PCI) 2. Presonus Firepod (over firewire 400) The firepod also works well on Mac OsX but my iBook was too slow for ejamming last time I tried... (its equipped with an 1.2 GHz G4 PPC and 768 Mb RAM)

Another one to consider is the M-Audio Firewire solo (http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FireWireSolo-main.html). We've seen great success with that box. Hope this helps.

I have a Tascam US-122 simple audio (guitar/mic) interface unit - it has 2 inputs/outputs for 2 devices. Will that work like M-Audio Firewall Solo?

will a m-audio black box work?
2007-08-05 11:40 AM
M-Audio specs say the black box is ASIO compliant

http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/MAudioBlackBox-main.html

so I'm guessing yes, but if your sound card isn't asio compliant, you will probably have to download and install ASIO4ALL http://www.ejamming.com/support/faq/33/

Hi, I'm new to all this- I have a M-Audio Fast Track which ejamming audio sees, so I guess I can get one instrument working-but this particular device has a toggle switch which means you can only have a guitar or a microphone. As you need a mic to speak to anyone do i need a device that allows 2 inputs at once?

if the Fast Track wont allow it then yes a small mixer or something to combine the two inputs into one would be good. Usually, eJamming combines the two active inputs for you, but if the sound card wont allow it then it is out of the software's hands.

Id look at some of the cheap behringer mixers, they're perfect for this app.

Thanks for that- I'm looking at the m-audio Firewire 410 as an upgrade- is that comparable with the Solo?

Its pretty similar but with more inputs and outputs. One of our lead programmers uses it regularly so it works well

Good luck! Chris

has anyone tried to do acoustic drum sets with triggers? what kind of interface would you recommend running?
2008-10-22 04:50 AM
You mean triggering MIDI drums from an acoustic kit?

Yes that's been done. might as well mic up an acoustic kit tho.

Anyway really any Midi interface should be able to take the MIDI information into eJamming and play it back with the internal eJamming Sound Set.

Hope this helps
