Why don’t I hear myself or my instrument once I create or join a Session?
Answer:
You may not have set your input and output device in Preferences. To set your input/output devices, go to Preferences>Audio tab> Input and Output devices. If your device is not shown in the pull-down menu, either you plugged it in after you opened eJamming AUDiiO and it didn’t recognize it, or it is not ASIO-driver compliant.
To minimize latency, eJamming AUDiiO uses low-latency ASIO drivers for Windows PCs. Apple OSX computers have low-latency Core Audio drivers already built in. If you're on a PC and your sound card, microphone or audio interface are not ASIO-compliant, then you will not hear yourself and neither will the other players.
There are two ways to fix this:
i) Buy an ASIO compliant sound card for your PC or an ASIO compliant USB microphone or an ASIO compliant audio interface into which you can plug your current microphone, guitar, keyboards, electronic drums/drum machines and DJ turntables. NOTE: MAKE SURE THE ASIO DRIVERS IN ANY DEVICE YOU BUY SUPPORT A 16-BIT-48KHZ SAMPLE RATE. That should allow eJamming AUDiiO to connect to your devices and inventory those devices in the Audio Input and Output Device selectors in the Audio Tab in Preferences.

ii) Install a freeware driver like ASIO4ALL for PCs which -- in many cases -- will allow eJamming AUDiiO to connect to your non-ASIO-compliant devices and inventory those devices in the Audio Input and Output Device selectors in the Audio Tab in Preferences. There are known issues with ASIO4ALL (it is not compatible with some SigmaTel and other sound cards for instance), and it may not be stable in other computers, causing crashes; however, many players are reporting success with installing it and not experiencing crashes or lockups. www.asio4all.com You can learn how to setup ASIO4ALL for eJamming here.
