Why am I getting a message that says I can't connect to a Session?

Answer:

Routers, ports, firewalls and other security measures are a fact of life today on the Internet to protect users from unwanted intrusions.  Unfortunately, when connecting computers together over the Internet - which we do with eJamming AUDiiO - we all have to deal with them.

So when you get an error message that you can't connect to a Session, it usually means a Player in the Session has not passed the Port Test and your router or modem has not been able to fall back on NAT negotiation to connect you.

eJamming AUDiiO connects musicians together using port 26900.  Passing the Port Test means that port is open to connect with other musicians (think of ports as virtual doors inside your computer that open to the Internet, like the doors in Monsters, Inc).  When that port is not available, routers can use an alternate way of connecting called Network Address Translation (or NAT) and can try negotiating with each other to make a connection.  If they can successfully complete NAT negotiation, you are connected.  If not, you get the error message.

Here's a simple workaround: somebody else create the Session and usually the other musicians can then connect.  The player who has NOT passed the port test should connect last.
