How Do I Port Forward If I use Zone Alarm?

Answer:

John McMullan, one of our fellow eJammers, has sent us this information about Port Forwarding with Zonealarm:

The config at http://portforward.com/english/routers/firewalling/ZoneLabs/ZoneAlarmProProgram/eJamming_StationIn.htm will turn off the ability of Zonealarm to stop unauthorised programs access to the internet (like Trojans and other virii) (Program protection is off is you look at the screenshots)

The settings I have arrived at work for Version 7 of Zonealarm.

Zonealarm will not allow the custom program UDP/TCP settings to work if program control is on (ie setting up firewall rules just for eJamming); I have tried for a couple of hours)

The solution is simple:

In Zonealarm (restore the control panel) select firewall from the left side, then in the MAIN tab, Internet Zone Security, click custom.  This brings up a list.

In the high security section, tick the boxes for incoming and outgoing TCP and UDP, then type in port 26900 for each entry.

When Zonealarm asks the access question for eJamming, allow it (and tick the box)

This will reduce the internet security a little, but it is better than turning program control off.

NOTE: PortForward.com sells a port configuration utility.  You do not need to buy it to configure your router.  Just follow their instruction manual for your router.
